Additionally, the Ryan Center and Boss Ice Arena have created specialized internship and work-study programs for undergraduates looking to obtain experience in the facility management industry. These programs are set up to give hands-on experience in different aspects of business, event planning, set up, marketing, and sponsorships for concerts, trade shows, sporting events, and family shows.

Director of Athletics Marketing: The Director of Marketing will play an integral role working closely with the Associate AD for Marketing in developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan for the Athletics Department with focus on men’s basketball to increase ticket sales, drive attendance and create a memorable and exciting fan experience while fostering innovative and collaborative efforts to engage students, staff, alumni, sponsors, donors and prospective fans of Rhode Island Athletics. Operations Manager: This position reports to the Director of Facilities and is responsible for assuming management responsibility for all services and activities involved in maintenance and operations in the arena as well as planning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing the work plan for facility maintenance and operations as well as all event changeovers. Event Manager: This position is to manage, staff, execute, and report on post event activities for all events at the Ryan Center and assigned events at the Boss Arena. This also includes implementing and maintaining safety and security and customer service measures. The Manager will focus on continuous enhancements in these areas while examining industry standards. The Cashier utilizes a cash register and accepts payment. Prepares and serves concession items to guests. Prepares and pours beverages and serves them to guests. Ensures quality of food presentation. The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Account Executive (Part-Time)
Under the leadership of the Director of Ticket Sales, the Account Executive is responsible for the generation of ticket sales revenue and for assisting with all aspects of the annual season and group ticket sales campaign including but not limited to Full Seasons, Partial Plans, and Groups for URI Football and Men’s and Women’s Basketball as well as family shows at the Ryan Center. Event Staff (Part-Time)
The Event Services staff provides customer services to patrons attending all sports & entertainment events held in the Ryan Center and Boss Ice Arena. Duties involve taking/scanning tickets, assisting patrons in finding their seats quickly and giving directions within the facility, monitoring and maintaining surveillance of doorways, entrances, exits, or other areas assigned; clearly explaining building policies and procedures to guests. Other duties as assigned. Shifts for this job vary and are based on the events scheduled for the coming months (primarily nights and weekends). There are not regular week-to-week hours. Box Office Ticket Seller (Part-Time)
The Box Office ticket sellers will be responsible for processing ticket orders for URI Athletics events (basketball and football), and concerts hosted by the Ryan Center.
