In addition to the
Brand New Ryan Center and all the great family
events it brings to Rhode Island,
the University of Rhode Island has also added to its campus the
brand new Bradford R. Boss Ice Arena, located just steps
away from the Ryan Center off Route
138.
The new 2,500-seat, $12 million Boss
Arena officially opened on September
15, 2002. It is the very first indoor ice facility in
all of Southern Rhode Island. The arena, one of
only two year-round operational ice rinks
in the state of Rhode Island, opens its doors 7 days
a week, 50 weeks out of the year, for over 15 hours a
day.
The arena is the new home of the University’s men’s and women’s
club hockey teams as well as daily public skating
sessions, a Learn to Skate program, and various
local youth and adult hockey leagues.
The Boss Ice Arena is a great place for
your team to practice, teach
the family to skate, watch a game, have a party
and most importantly, have lots
of fun in a safe, family-friendly environment.
