A

Accessible Seating

The Ryan Center is accessible to all guests. All guest entrances are wheelchair accessible. The center features accessible seating and companion seating at all levels, convenient disability parking located in the Ram Lot outside the North Lobby, and assistive listening devices. Patrons requiring assistance should contact the Ryan Center in advance of their visit.

For accessible seating patrons can purchase tickets in one of the following ways:

In person at the Ryan Center Box Office, on-line at http://www.theryancenter.com, by phone at 1-855-387-4849 or for URI Athletic events, on-line at http://www.gorhody.com, by phone at 401-874-RAMS (7267) or in person at the Box Office.

Should you have questions regarding your accessible seating please call 401-874-7597 to speak with a ticket representative.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available in the Ram Lot directly outside the North Lobby of the Ryan Center located off Plains Road. Parking is available on first come, first served basis on the day of the event. A state-approved handicapped parking permit is necessary for access to all handicapped parking areas. There is additional ADA parking available in the Plains Road lot directly across the street from the Ryan Center. In addition, the Ram Lot is open for patron drop off and pick up.

Age

All individuals two years of age or older must posses a valid ticket for entry into the Ryan Center. A Child under two years of age is admitted free of charge for all events, provided that the child sits on the patron’s lap.  Occasionally, a family show, (Harlem Globetrotters, The Circus, etc.) will require a children younger than two years old to purchase a ticket.

Aisle

For safety and as a courtesy to other ticket holders, patrons are prohibited from sitting or standing in aisles. Any guests not compliant may be subject to ejection.


Alcohol policy

The Ryan Center currently allows alcohol sales in a limited capacity during select events.  At URI Athletic events alcohol sales are available only in privately held areas (luxury suites, Alumni Lounge, and the end zone concourse areas).  For select non-URI Athletic events (concerts, comedy shows, trade shows, etc.) alcohol is available on a event by event basis to the general public in either a sectioned off area of the arena called the Rhody Pub or full beer and wine sales in the concession stand throughout the arena.  Centerplate and URI Catering staff are trained in responsible alcohol service management.


For events selling alcohol in Rhody Pub, only patrons 21 or older are allowed in this area to purchase and consume beer and wine.  Prior to entering Rhody Pub each patron must show their ID to receive a wristband validating that they were of legal drinking age.  In addition, all alcohol purchased in this area must remain in that designated area to drink. For events where beer and wine is available to purchase at the concession stands, patrons 21 or older must present a valid ID at the ID check stand to receive a bracelet and are allowed take back the beer or wine to consume at their seats.


Overly intoxicated and disorderly fans within the Ryan Center will be ejected and may be subject to arrest.

Alumni Lounge

The Alumni Lounge is the Ryan Center’s lounge for pre- and post-game events.  It is reserved for use by the URI athletic department during URI athletic events.  During other events and non-event days, the room is available to rent for parties of up to 125 depending on availability.  Please call 401-788-3200 for more information.

Animals

Only animals serving as guide, signal or service animals to aid guests with disabilities, and any animals that are are an integral part of the approved show are permitted inside the Ryan Center. Guests bringing a service animal may not take up additional seats unless a ticket has been purchased for the adjacent seat, but may request accessible seating.

Automated Teller Machines (ATMs)

The Ryan Center has three ATM’s, located in the North lobby by sections 102 and 103,  North concourse by section 201, and on the South concourse by section 209.

Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive Listening Devices are available at the Ryan Center Guest Services Center, located adjacent to the Main Ticket Office in the North Lobby area. To ensure that the devices are promptly returned, a major credit card or a driver's license is required to use the devices.


Away Game Tickets

The Ryan Center Box Office offers tickets to all URI men’s basketball and football games played away from the University of Rhode Island.  For more information, please call 401-874-RAMS.

Baby Changing Facilities

Baby changing stations are located in all restrooms (both Men & Women Restroom) throughout the Ryan Center.  There are also two family restrooms; one is located on the event level outside section 110 and the other is located on the West Concourse outside the Alumni Lounge.


Bag check/searches

Bags, backpacks, luggage, coolers, parcels, briefcase, duffle bag, large bags and like articles will be strictly prohibited inside the Ryan Center. Bags larger than one (1) cubic foot will not be permitted inside the Ryan Center. All guests will be subject to search, at the discretion of the Ryan Center staff.  Patrons with prohibited articles will be turned away at the entrance and check in service will not be provided for such items.

Banners and signs

Policy regarding banners and signs may vary by event; however when signs are permitted (Men’s and Women’s Basketball Games) the Ryan Center Management may prohibit and confiscate signs that are not event-related, that are excessive in size or that contain indecent or derogatory comments or images, political statements, or commercial reference. Signs and banners may not be hung anywhere in the Ryan Center or displayed in any way that obstructs the view of others or adverting signage.  No signs or banner with poles, sticks or foam board will be permitted inside the Ryan Center.

Cancelled/Postponed Events

In the rare event that a Ryan Center event is postponed or canceled, please visit the Ryan Center’s website or call 401-788-3200 for up-to-date information on scheduled events.

Cameras/recording devices

Policies vary by event.  However, cameras with professional lenses, detachable lenses or detachable flashes are prohibited inside the Ryan Center.  The Event Promoter reserves the right to deny camera use at any time during or before the event and to prohibit the use of any camera that is deemed unacceptable. Use of video cameras, audio recording devices and digital cameras in video mode is strictly prohibited in the arena. The use of any of these items will result in confiscation and possible ejection from the arena.

Capacity

The Ryan Center seats 7,657 people for a basketball game. Capacity varies for each non-basketball event and ranges from 3,000 to 6,000 people.

Catering (URI Dining Services)

Cellular Phones

The use of cellular phones is permitted at the Ryan Center, provided such use does not interfere with other guests' enjoyment of the event. Please be courteous and refrain from making loud or lengthy calls in the seating areas.

Change Overs

Changeovers from basketball to a concert set-up and for other events, generally require approximately 3.5 hours.

Coat Check

The Ryan Center does not provide an area to check coats or any other personal belongings. The Ryan Center is not responsible for any property that is lost, stolen, or damaged.

Concessions (Centerplate)

Credit Cards

MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover are accepted at the Ryan Center Box Office.  The Ram Zone gift shop and most concession stands accept Visa and Mastercard.

Door Opening Times

The times the doors to the Ryan Center officially open to the tickets holders varies according to the event.  Doors typical open an hour prior to the event beginning.  Please check the www.theryancenter.com for specific event information.

Drop Off and Pick up

Patron drop-off and pick-up locations are available outside the both entrances of the Ryan Center.

Elevators

There are two elevators at the Ryan Center.  One is in the south lobby and one is in the north lobby.  There are three floors - elevators start at the event level, providing access to floor level and 100 level seating.  They stop at the concourse level, providing access to 200 level seating, 200 level accessible seating, and 300 level seating.  They also stop at the suite level, providing access to all suites and 300 level accessible seating.

The Ryan Center does not permit the exchange of tickets for any event.  All sales are final.

First Aid

First Aid is available on the concourse level behind section 207 for most events (basketball games, family shows, football) however for most concerts First Aid located off the north end of the event floor.  A Ryan Center Event Staff Member will be able to assist you with directions to the First Aid location.

Food and Beverages

Guests may not bring food and/or beverage items into the arena at any times. Guest must dispose of the unauthorized items prior to entrance into the arena.

Guest Code of Conduct

The Ryan Center is committed to enhancing safety and enjoyable experience for all patrons. The Ryan Center appreciate all fans observe the Guest Code of Conduct.
• Guests will enjoy the event experience free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language and obscene gestures.
• Guests may only consume alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. Intervention with an impaired, intoxicated or underage guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
• Guests may only sit in their ticketed seats and show their tickets when requested.
• Guests who engage in fighting, throwing objects or attempt to enter the playing surface will be immediately evicted from the arena.
• Guests may not smoke in the arena.
• Obscene or indecent messages on signs or clothing will not be permitted.
• Guests must comply with requests from arena staff regarding arena operations and emergency response procedures.
• When exiting, there is no re-entry into the building,

Guest Services is located in the North Lobby and is open during most large events. The Ryan Center is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Any guest in need of assistance during an event should seek the closets Event Staff Member.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the rare event that a Ryan Center event is postponed or canceled due to inclement weather, please visit the Ryan Center’s website for up-to-date information on schedule events. Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone an event, this information will be promptly posted on the Ryan Center website, as well as our main information telephone line 401-788-3200

Interpretive Services

The Ryan Center will arrange for interpretive services if notified at the time of purchase for concerts and family shows. Sign language interpreter requests require two weeks advance notice of the show for scheduling.  Patrons can call the Box Office at 401-874-7267 to a representative or info@theryancenter.com to request this service.

Intoxicated Guests

The Ryan Center reserves the right to deny entry to intoxicated guests. Any intoxicated guest causing disturbance during an event will be asked to leave the facility and may be subject to arrest.

Lost and Found

The Ryan Center management assumes no responsibility of items lost or damaged at events. The Ryan Center lost and found is located at the Guest Services window located near the Main Ticket Office in the North Lobby.  When Guest Services is closed, inquiries may be made at the Box Office window in the North Lobby.  To inquire about a lost item by phone, please call 401-788-3200 (Prompt #1 for Box Office and then #5 to speak to a representative).

Listening Devices

The Ryan Center is equipped with in-house listening devices for the hearing impaired which guests can obtain from the Guest Services area located near the Main Ticket Office.

Lost and Found

The Ryan Center lost and found is located at the Guest Services window located near the Main Ticket Office in the North Lobby.  When Guest Services is closed, inquiries may be made at the Box Office window in the North Lobby.  To inquire about a lost item by phone, please call 401-788-3200 (Prompt #1 for Box Office and then #5 to speak to a representative).

Lost Children

Lost children at the Ryan Center should be brought to the nearest usher, supervisor, or security guard.

Lost or Stolen Tickets

Lost tickets:

Tickets are lost, you should contact the point of sale for replacement.  If your tickets were purchased using on-line via ww.theryancenter.com or by phone at 1-855-387-4849 please contact Customer Service directly at 401-788-3201 with any problems. If you are a season or plan ticket holder for URI athletics, please call 401-874-RAMS(7267).  Single game or event tickets purchased at the Ryan Center box office with a credit card can be replaced by coming down to the box office with the credit card used to purchase the tickets.  Due to the difficulty of verifying tickets purchased with cash, we are not able to replace tickets lost that were purchased with cash.  Single game or event tickets purchased at the box office are not traceable and should be treated like currency; they cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.  The cost to replace lost tickets is $5.

Stolen Tickets:
For tickets that have been stolen an official police report is required as well as verification of purchase.  Stolen ticket passes/reissues will be given out at the discretion of the Box Office Manager and only after verification of purchase.

Merchandise

Merchandise is sold at the Ram Zone located on the event level in the main/north lobby during all men’s basketball games. Visa and Mastercard are accepted in the Ram’s Zone.  Most concerts and family shows will set up their own merchandise stands.  Methods of payment accepted and merchandise offered vary for each show.

Media Access/Press

All press inquiries for Ryan Center special events (concerts, family shows, etc.) should be directed to Matt Moeller at 401-788-3230. Press inquiries for URI Athletics should be directed to Mike Laprey, Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Communication at 401-874-2401

Pay phones are available on the event level in the north and south lobbies.

Police

Uniformed South Kingstown and University of Rhode Island police officers are stationed inside and outside the Ryan Center at all events.

Prohibited Items

Prohibited Items inside the Ryan Center include, but are not limited to:
     •Aerosol cans
     •Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs
     •Animals (other than service animals)
     •Bags/containers larger than one cubic foot
     •Banners, sticks, clubs, or flag poles
     •Bota bags or wine skins
     •Confetti
     •Cameras or recording devices (varies by event)
     •Fireworks, firearms, or other weapons
     •Glass bottles or aluminum cans
     •Ice chests (coolers) or thermos containers
     •Illegal substances
     •Inflatable items (such as helium balloons or beach balls)
     •Laser pointers
     •Noise-makers (including natural and artificial)
     •Outside food and beverage including containers
     •Skateboards or roller blades
     •Sticks or clubs (including signs attached to sticks)
     •Stools or folding chairs
     •Water bottles or mugs
     •Weapons of any kind
     •Items whose contents can not be inspected or displayed

Patrons attempting to bring any prohibited item into the Ryan Center will be asked to return that item to his or her vehicle. Arena management reserves the right to inspect & remove any items. Check-In Services is not available for any items.

Recording Devices

As a general rule, recording devices are not allowed within the Ryan Center.  This is subject to change depending on each event’s policies.  Please call 401-788-3200 for more information.  Patrons attempting to bring a prohibited device into the Ryan Center will be asked to return that device to his or her vehicle.

Re-Entry

Patrons who leave the Ryan Center during an event will not be allowed back into the building unless another ticket is purchased.  If you must leave for an emergency, please speak to a ticket taker at the main entrance prior to leaving the building if you wish to be re-admitted.

Restrooms

All restrooms at the Ryan Center have diaper-changing facilities and are accessible to persons with disabilities.  There are also two family restrooms; one is located on the event level outside section 110 and the other is located on the West Concourse outside the Alumni Room.

Scalping

Rhode Island state law permits the resale of tickets at no greater than face value plus $3 per ticket or 10% of face value - whichever is greater.

Smoking

Under Rhode Island law, smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Ryan Center.  An outdoor smoking area is provided in the north lobby.

Souvenirs

The Rams Zone carries a wide assortment of University of Rhode Island athletics apparel and souvenirs.  It is open for all URI men’s and women’s basketball and football games. URI athletics apparel and souvenirs are also available at the University of Rhode Island Bookstore at the Memorial Union.  Please call 401-874-2722 for hours of operation and other information.
Most concerts and family shows will set up their own merchandise stands.  Methods of payment accepted and merchandise offered vary for each show.

Sponsorships

Standing

The Ryan Center asks all guests to remain seated during events. Depending on the nature of the event (such as a concert), standing may be accepted as normal protocol.  Guests are permitted to stand if the majority of the audience is doing the same.  Sanding on seats or any other structure is not permitted and may result in ejection from event.

Strollers

If necessary, guests may bring strollers to events. Please understand strollers may not be left in walkways or concourse, our staff will not guard these items for you.  The Ryan Center is not responsible for any lost, stolen, damaged strollers, strollers can not be checked in.

Tours

Tours are available for groups of 15 or more, Monday through Friday between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, and on weekends by request and availability. All tours must be reserved a minimum of 7 days in advance.** Groups of less than 15 people can be added on to existing tours. Water Fountains

Water Fountains are located throughout the building.

Wheelchair Accomodations

Wheelchair Escorts are available for disabled guests who may need assistance getting to or from their seats. Our escorts will meet a guest at the entry doors and assist them to their seats as well as meet them at the end of the event and escort them to the exit. Due to a limited number of wheelchairs, escorts can only provide transportation within the building and wheelchairs cannot be reserved prior to the event. Wheelchair Space Locations

Guests with disabilities and their companions may enjoy wheelchair space locations that are dispersed throughout the arena and available at all price levels. It is strongly suggested that all accessible seating and requests be made in advance. In an effort to serve all patrons requesting accessible seating we offer at a minimum four (4) tickets per customer (based on availability). Other guests depending on availability will be seated as close to the accessible section as possible. For non ticketed events all accessible seats are available on a first come, first served basis to all customers desiring accessible seating.    For all events every possible effort will be made to accommodate patrons requiring special assistance however it is strongly recommended to purchase ADA seating in advance for ticketed events and call 401-874-7267 for any non ticketed event questions.

Will Call (Pre-Ordered Ticket Pick Up)

Tickets ordered through Ticketmaster or the Ryan Center Box Office can be picked up at the Main Box Office on the north side of the Ryan Center.  It is accessed by entering the University at Plains Road.
