RHODE ISLAND STUDENTS COMPETE AT THE RYAN CENTER IN THE 2010 CREDIT UNION BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

(KINGSTON, RI – February 26, 2010) – Over the course of March 13-14, young people from across the state will arrive at the University of Rhode Island's Ryan Center for a competition of fierce proportions.  The 20th annual Credit Union Championships is a high school basketball tournament that enables high school girls and boys to compete against their peers for state championship bragging rights.

More than 5,500 exuberant spectators attended the Credit Union Championships in 2009 and an excellent crowd is expected again in 2010.  Numerous credit union sponsors, along with the Credit Union Association of Rhode Island and Members United Corporate Federal Credit Union make this event possible.

Credit union sponsorship of this statewide tournament offers Rhode Island's top high school athletes the opportunity of a lifetime to compete at The Ryan Center. This commitment to the youth of Rhode Island exemplifies the fundamental cooperative spirit on which credit unions are based.

Tickets for all games are available now for $8 each ($5 for 18 and under) at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 1.800.745.3000 or in person at The Ryan Center box office. For more information visit www.theryancenter.com.
